Xavier Cortada will serve as Chairman of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs’ FY 2016-2017 Developing Arts in Neighborhoods (DAN) Grants Program. The DAN Grants Program provides funding support to small, grass-roots arts organizations with a year round presence in Miami-Dade County of presenting, performing or exhibiting a year-round season of cultural activities. Grants are awarded to not-for-profit, tax-exempt organizations with annual operating budgets of under $100,000.

As Chairman, Cortada will be working alongside artists, arts-related professionals, and other persons with current or prior active involvement in specific cultural disciplines, such as board members of cultural organizations and community cultural leaders.  The panel meeting will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016, 9:30 am – 2:00 pm at the offices of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, located at 111 Northwest 1 Street, Suite 625, Miami, FL 33128.

Cortada has served as a member of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs Council since 2005.
